Summer Hair

I hate doing my hair when the weather gets nicer, for multiple reasons.

  • Honestly, I just hate having to deal with the heat of my flat iron or my curling iron when it's already so hot outside or in my room. My apartment's air conditioning sucks!

  • I usually end up throwing my hair into a pony tail or a top knot anyway. My hair is so long and thick that it overheats me as is, so why waste my time?

  • Doing my hair is time consuming. As I mentioned, my hair is long and thick so it takes FOREVER to get it finished and get it perfect, why would I want to be in front of my mirror when I could be laying out by my pool?
Here are some of my absolute go to solutions for my hair in the summer:

This is my hair savior. It's really easy, the results are phenomenal (that's a rarity for me due to my lion's mane of hair), and it's cheap. I honestly prefer Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray but I'm a college kid who is attempting to learn how to budget.

I also love the ever so famous sock bun. It's so easy and it's incredibly chic, so that speaks for itself.

Another favorite of mine isn't cheap, but I thought it was worth every single penny. Japanese Hair Straightening. It's a controversial treatment in the beauty world, but I'm an elated consumer. My natural hair texture is a weird mixture of wavy and curly (which I hated growing up but I LOVE now) and after this treatment my hair was absolutely pin straight, right out of the shower. Prices can go up to $600, so it isn't right for someone on a budget, but I was beyond happy with my results.
